Daniel Fields joined the Doncaster Wheatsheaf Singers as Musical Director in January 2016.
Daniel is a secondary school music and drama teacher in Scunthorpe, teaching both classroom and instrumental music and is organist at the Wesley Memorial Methodist Church in Epworth, where he works with a team of musicians to ensure high quality music for worship and civic occasions. He is well-known in the North Lincolnshire area as a Bass-Baritone soloist; working recently with local choral societies in performances of Vaughan Williams' Fantasia on Christmas Carols, Stainerís The Crucifixion, Schubert's Mass in G and Handelís Messiah. Daniel is also musical director and conductor of the Scunthorpe Male Voice Choir and also acts as a freelance conductor and music educator around the North Lincolnshire area.
Joanne Bostandji, nee Porter, was born and raised in Doncaster. She started her musical training with piano lessons at age 9 followed by learning the clarinet and recorder, completing Grade 8 on all three instruments during her time at secondary school. Throughout these years, Joanne participated in many musical events and competitions. Deciding to continue her music studies in university, Joanne received a Bachelor of Music with Honours (Piano) from Birmingham Conservatoire. She then went on to receive a Postgraduate Certificate of Education in Secondary Music at Cambridge University.
Joanne started her career in music education teaching in the Cayman Islands and then relocating to New Zealand for 8 years, finally becoming Head of Performance at Massey High School in Auckland.
With a young family in tow, Joanne has returned to Doncaster becoming a Music Specialist in the primary sector. She enjoys organising and preparing Choirs and ensembles for events within the community and further afield.
If you are aged 14+, female and interested in singing then why not join the DONCASTER WHEATSHEAF SINGERS. Rehearsals are held every Monday from 7pm to 9pm. The choir is a friendly and sociable group of around thirty voices who are keen to welcome new singers. Although it is not vital that you read music, it is important that you can make a regular commitment to our Monday evening rehearsals and, after a period spent learning our repertoire, commit to our concerts.
All rehearsals are held at The Quaker Meeting House, Oxford Place, Doncaster - tel 01302 770007 (Dorothy Miller) or 01302 571874 (Stephen Burnage) for further information
